Voyage in London is a large-scale installation that consists of three hundred floating 'origami paper boats', encasing coloured dynamic LED lights.
The flotilla composes an organic matrix of interactive lights activated by people through their mobile phones. Light's behaviour responds to the public in real-time, encouraging collective involvement and creating aesthetic experiences that are sensitive to individual and social behaviours.
How can we use digital media technologies to make our cities more social, rather than just more hi-tech?
The idea is that paper boats take us in voyages through childhood memories, wishes and imaginings.
