This year our flotilla of origami boats installation Voyage will travel to the beautiful Dunham Massey!

Nestled between the vibrant city of Manchester and the beginnings of rural Cheshire, Dunham Massey includes a 300-acre deer park, a historic house and buildings, and all-season gardens.  
 

The gardens - home to 12,000 trees and the National Conifer Collection - have been decked out once more into a magical after-dark lights and sounds trail, including our installation Voyage.

Christmas at Bedgebury officially opens to the public on Friday, November 22 and runs on selected dates to Monday, December 30.

A one-mile trail weaves through the Botanics, using the Garden’s natural landscape and historic buildings as a backdrop for awe-inspiring visual effects; including our installation Voyage on the Gardens’ Pond.

Our flotilla of origami boats has travelled to Dubai to celebrate Diwali on Burj Lake. On display until the end of November, Voyage forms part of the Emaar Art initiative, which aims to bring art to the wider community.

Aether & Hemera's Voyage has been selected for Blenheim Palace annual outdoor light exhibition;  November 2017- January 2018. Our flotilla of origami boats will be floating for 2 months on the Great Lake. Photos by JW.

The Scottish Maritime Museum will launch the country’s newest art and light winter spectacular, ‘illumination: Harbour Festival of Light’ which will include a free firework display celebrating St Andrew’s Day, including our and a free water-themed sculpture trail.

The UK's biggest digital light festival This season, Quays Culture will host the UK’s biggest digital light festival, at Salford Quays and MediaCityUK. The annual festival, Lightwaves 2016 will run from Friday 9 December until Sunday 18 December and will feature a collection of outdoor light exhibitions. #Lightwaves2016.

We are so trilled that our artwork Voyage is a winner in the official Raspberry Pi magazine’s 50th issue celebration feature voted by the Raspberry Pi community. 

Premiering in 2016, Light City Baltimore is the first large-scale, international light festival in the United States. Light City will provide a backdrop for the celebration of ideas, ingenuity and creativity through art, music and innovation.

Light City will shine a light on Baltimore’s abundance of creative, cutting-edge, multi-disciplinary talent, and at Aether & Hemera we are delighted that our installation Voyage has been selected for the festival.

Aether & Hemera have been invited to present their work Voyage in Canberra in occasion of Enlighten 2015; from February the 27th to March the 7th our flotilla of colourful origami boats will float on the Lake Burley Griffin for all to enjoy!

Aether & Hemera's installation Voyage 'is sailing' to Arizona for taking part to the inspiring Canal Convergence event which animates the Scottsdale Waterfront  from early November.

We share the same motto with Scottsdale Public Art : Live the art. Love the place.

The mission of Scottsdale Public Art is to serve as a leader in defining art in the public realm through creative place-making, signature cultural events, exhibitions, and installations  contributing to the community's creative, cultural, and economic vitality.

At Aether & Hemera, we are interested in Xdesign for contemporary city , focusing not only on the traditional 'hard' infrastructures of buildings and engineering, but also the 'softer' infrastructures of social networks and human interactions.

The etymon of the word 'voyage' comes from Latin viāticum, which means 'provision for travelling'; the inspiration of this artwork is to allow people to travel and sail with absolute freedom to all the places we care to imagine. Paper boats bring us in voyages through childhood memories, wishes and imaginings. Paper boats’ on the water invite everyone to make a transition from reality to imagination, reliving childhood memories and embracing our freedom. Creating an unexpected and unusual addition to the landscape, Voyage inspires the viewers to think creatively about the spaces around them; the dynamic coloured light scenarios of the artwork invite the viewer to make a smooth transition between reality and daydream.
